Valley Forge Medical Center & Hospital is deeply saddened to announce the death of Marian “Ronnie” Wolffe Colcher, President, Chief Executive Officer and Program Director. Ronnie, a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker, died on April 27, 2016 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Since her passing the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee have met to respond to this tragic event and to ensure that necessary governance and business processes continue. The Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee unanimously appointed Gregg Y. Slocum, current Chief Financial Officer, as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Board has also decided to separate the roles of President and CEO and has appointed Frederick D. Jackes, Ph.D. as President.

The Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee, on behalf of the VFMC family, extend their most sincere sympathies to the Colcher family and to Ronnie’s many friends in the Pennsylvania and Maine areas. A celebration of Ronnie’s life and her legacy will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2:00pm on the grounds of Valley Forge Medical Center & Hospital. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
